Zusammenfassung
Interferences common to the nitrogen ammonia Nessler method
Antwort
Details on known interfering substances can be found in the "Interferences" section in the  Nitrogen Ammonia Nessler Method 8038  from the Water Analysis Handbook (WAH). Listed below are the most common interferences:

Chlorine
Hardness
Iron
Seawater
Sulfide
Glycine
Various aliphatic and aromatic amines
Organic chloramines
Acetone, aldehydes, and alcohols

Most of these interferences can be eliminated or reduced through sample pretreatment. The presence of sulfide or iron, at any concentration, will cause turbidity to form in the sample after addition of the Nessler reagent.
