EPA method 120.1 for Conductivity requires the use of an electrode with a cell constant of 1.0 cm -1 . The CDC401 has a nominal cell constant of 0.4 cm-1 ( What is the cell constant of Intellical Conductivity CDC Probes? ) Therefore the CDC401 cannot be used to follow EPA method 120.1

However, SM 2510B does not have a specification for the cell constant of the electrode used. Therefore the CDC401 can be used to follow SM 2510B and  Hach Method 8160  is equivalent to SM 2510B.

SM 2510B is listed on 40 CFR 141 and 40 CFR 136 as an approved method in addition to EPA method 120.1. So Although the CDC401 cannot be used to follow EPA 120.1 specifically, it can be used to follow SM 2510B which is also an approved method for reporting to the USEPA for Drinking and Wastewater.
 
21 CFR 11 establishes the FDA regulations on electronic records and electronic signatures and defines the criteria under which electronic records and electronic signatures are considered trustworthy, reliable, and equivalent to paper records. Hach conductivity probes do not have the compability to follow these guidelines and therefore should not be used for FDA type analysis.
