How to calibrate an analog (4-20 mA) output on an sc200 controller?
Zusammenfassung
Calibrating an analog (4-20 mA) output on an sc200 controller.
Antwort
If the sc200 controller and the PLC or SCADA results do not match, it is most commonly related to configuration settings (refer to the article for "Configuring an analog output on an sc200" for additional information). If the configuration has been verified, the next step is to test and calibrate the analog outputs.

The following instructions demonstrate the appropriate analog output calibration procedure:
  • Connect a digital multimeter to the appropriate terminals:
  • Using the Keypad on the sc200:
    • Press Menu
    • Scroll to the TEST/MAINT menu and press enter
    • Scroll to the OUTPUT CAL menu and press enter
    • Select OUTPUT 1 or OUTPUT 2 and press enter
    • Select CAL 4 mA and press enter

The number on the display is a digital number that translates to a 4 mA output (default number should be approximately +10486). The number displayed is directly proportional to the output generated by the sc200 (the higher the number - the higher the output).
The shaded number indicates the digit that can be adjusted. Using the right or left arrow you can select a different digit. Using the up and down arrows, adjust the selected number on the sc200 display until the multimeter measures 4.00 mA. When the multimeter reads 4.0 mA, press the enter key on the sc200 to save this setting.

Next, select CAL 20 mA and press enter:
The number on the display is a digital number that translates to a 20.00 mA output (default number should be approximately +52486). The number displayed is directly proportional to the output generated by the sc200 (the higher the number - the higher the output).
The shaded number indicates the digit that can be adjusted. Using the right or left arrow you can select a different digit. Using the up and down arrows, adjust the selected number on the sc200 display until the multimeter measures 20.00 mA. When the multimeter reads 20.00 mA, press the enter key on the sc200 to save this setting.

These steps can be repeated for output 2

These instructions are to be used after verifying the configuration settings (refer to the article for "Configuring an analog output on an sc200" for additional information) are set to the same low and high value.
