Antwort
If bubbles are forming in a Lachat Flow cell assembly (Product # 31933) there are a few things that can be considered.
  • Make certain the flow cell is oriented properly. The flow cell should be inserted with the writing facing down. If it is upside down, air will not pass as easily through the flow cell and may become stuck.
  • Make sure the connections to the flow cell are correct. The bottom connector on the flow cell should be attached to the manifold so that the top connector will be attached to the back pressure loop or waste line. If the connections are backwards, air will not pass as easily through the flow cell and may become stuck.
  • In the case of reagent coating or a newer cell which may have a coating inside, run a 1 molar sodium hydroxide solution through the cell for 5 minutes. Next, flush with deionized water. This may correct the problem.
  • If air is getting to the flow cell from the reagents it may be necessary to consider degassing them.  A number of suggestions/strategies are discussed in the article Do Lachat reagents have to be degassed with Helium?
