What is the difference between TOC as NPOC and TC-TIC when specifying a BioTector?
Zusammenfassung
TOC as NPOC vs. TC-TIC
Antwort
NPOC stands for non-purgeable organic carbon.  When a sample contains little to no purgeable organic carbon or volatile organic carbon (VOC), the BioTector can be specified to measure TOC as NPOC.  If the sample contains VOC or if VOC is an important measurement, then the BioTector can be specified to measure TOC as TC-TIC (total carbon - total inorganic carbon).  The BioTector will conduct the analysis differently, so the VOC in the sample can be included in the TOC result.  See the attached information sheets for more information about VOC and the difference between the method of the NPOC measurement and the TC-TIC measurement.

The BioTector must be specified correctly at the time of order for NPOC or TC-TIC.
